• Wenn asked for a softer look for her ROM. She looked so much like this Korean actress that I do not need much inspiration to decide on the hairdo for her.  Everything is kept soft and her makeup is kept fresh and glowing for her. I love how the blue gown contrast with her skin color.

    • SAJC rocks! That was what Grace wrote to me when she confirmed me and her makeup artist and Fusheng as her photographer. It was a joy to be working around friends and suddenly on her wedding day I felt so proud to be a saint.

Grace had her pre-wedding pictures done in Korea and that did put alot of pressure on me as everyone knows that Korea is really good on their wedding and makeup stuff. And her pre-wedding pictures looked fantastic. Even her studio shoots which I rarely likes (I prefer natural lightnings) looked great. Both of them looked like movie stars. As for their causal shoots, it looked like they were in a Korea drama. Made me really want to take my pictures in Korea. It was really good and you can trust me coz I have really seen so many pictures.

I really like this picture alot coz Fu Sheng make sure all of us (except him) were in the pictures.

A shot from Fu Sheng’s Hello Stranger photo booth. Love this concept.

Thank you Grace for everything. Wish you all the happiness and can’t wait to see the pictures of the new addition to your family :D

      •

Simplicity and elegance. A natural makeup with a fuss free hairdo. Yan Hong’s hair is all bundled-up with curls to show depths in her hair. Fringe is kept natural and soft.

        • Claris is yet another bride who is a friend of one of my brides in the past. They shared the same stream-stress as well It felt really good to be doing the hair trial and talking about the common friends we have.

Claris knew exactly what she like. Fuss free and neat hairdos. The only challenge is she just have shoulder length hair so I have to rack my brains real hard to find a hairdo to suit her evening  gown.

Therefore the morning we went for a classic bridal hairdo with roses in her hair. Makeup is my usual natural makeup style for the classic look. As for the evening, we settled for a low twisted bun and a slightly heavier eye makeup.

          • Grace was my JC classmate so naturally I was all stressed out. Having knew her, I recommended a modern modified Mohawk for her actual day. It was a clean cut hairdo that I think suit her personality. For her cheongsam, we had a low hairdo which is elegant and yet loose enough to be natural looking. It went great with her hanbok for her 3rd march in. More pictures to come!

            • Starting the new year with the pictures of my pretty secondary school friend and her beloved hubby.

As you can see, I am basically smiling at every single picture. That is how happy we were, at least I was.

I did four styles for Xueni. For the morning, we went for a all popular side chignon. For her ROM, it was a side braided let down hairdo to complement her asymmetric short gown. The 1st March in was a let down slightly tousled hairdo topped with a sparking and very expensive tiara. Just like a pretty princess. Lastly, she did her last march in in her bright red gown with a black veil and high messy bun for a sexy look.

Below are the pictures, its going be a very long post. Enjoy :)

Thank you for taking the effort to send me the pictures. You are a real sweety. I really enjoyed the wedding and the trust you had for me was so great that I found it all the more stressful. But Thank you for the trust and having me to be part of your big day (as you know I don’t have many friends, this might be the closet I get to be in a friend’s wedding. LOL)

All the bestest wishes to you and hope we hear good news from you soon ya :D

              • Dear Brides,

Cleo will be going back to Taiwan for Chinese New year and her upgrading courses from 15th Jan till 26th Jan 2012.

Throughout this period, I will be contactable via email but replies will be slow as I will be in classes for the first 4 days and then busy shopping and visiting relatives for the rest of the time.

So do forgive me if I couldn’t give you a reply asap but I promise I will do that when I have time. Plus I am back to study so I am looking forward to be a better Cleo Chang soon :D

Enjoy your holidays and everybody HUAT ah !!!

                • It is a few days into the new year and I have yet to update my blog. In my defense, I really needed that few days break :D

Well, actually the year didnt seem to end for me. In the wedding industry, I feel like I am syncing myself to the lunar calendar. My busy days, my off days are dependent on the Chinese calendar and of course what the fengshi masters think are the good dates to get married. It is just funny to me why so many people with different (ba zhi)  just happen to be able to marry at that same dates. It is actually the photographers and makeup artist (at least for me) to bribe a few fengshi masters to spread the dates out and make the auspicious hours a little later like 10am? Oh my sweet bunny, that will be a great day for us all.

Maybe it was such a good year to get married, I was swamped with work and I didnt really get the time to have any rest. Taxi uncles who chit chatted with me, (sometimes I initiated the conversation because being a makeup artist can be a lonely trade. You wake up early and eat lunch alone, pass time in hotel lobbies to catch a nap and then head home at night) warned me to have some leisure time for myself or else “your boyfriend will run away”. Not just one uncle who said this. It is always pretty interesting to chit chat with them. Always learn something new.

I am thankful for all I had been given and gained over the past year. And again like always, thank everyone for the trust and support from brides, photographers, friends, family and the boyfriend. We had a great run :)

To wish everyone a very happy new year ahead

                  • A Kate Middleton inspired bridal gown with a Korean inspired low hairdo. A natural blush for the glowing bride. This is vintage chic.

                    • I met up with Ru yi before months before her ROM to discuss about her hairstyle because surprise, surprise, she was one of the guest of my bride. We decided on the hairstyle but on the actual day of her ROM, some inspiration just came swooshing in when I was half way doing her makeup. I saw her dress so instead of an elegant korean like updo, I did a poofy hairdo, finished with a ribbon to up the sweet appeal.

I am really relieved that Ruyi was very open minded and trusted me with her hair. I really thought this suits her more than what I had in mind for her initially. Sometimes, being inspired is not enough, you must have the trust in order to make things work. Thank you Ru yi :D

I especially like Ruyi’s portraits taken by Oh! Dear Photography . Maybe because this is through a lady’s perspective. Very lovely.
